Dr. Glassroth is an expert in pulmonary and critical care medicine, with a particular interest in lung infections including those caused by mycobacteria. A distinguished physician scientist, Dr. Glassroth has studied lung infections with a particular emphasis on mycobacteria, a pathogen that can cause tuberculosis. He also has an interest in lung problems in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Through his research, Dr. Glassroth aims to find answers to epidemiological questions, such as how to better prevent, diagnose and allocate resources for the treatment of respiratory infections.
Dr. Glassroth has published more than 150 papers and co-edited leading textbooks on respiratory infections, including Baum's Textbook of Pulmonary Diseases, which is now in its seventh edition.
